Halloween Fun

Neighborhood kids ready to trick-or-treat
Ellie checking out the goodies in the bag

Austin loves Skittles!

Darth Vader and my little monkeys

HI -

I am finally posting some pics from Halloween. It was a fun night and the twins are now officially "pros" and taking candy from all the neighbors. The first house we went to, the twins kinda stood there as we showed them how to open their bags while the sweet neighbor put a candy bar in the bag. By house #2, Ellie was not shy, she just took 2 or 3 handfuls from their bowl and put in her bag... It was cute. We will work on manners by next year. Enjoy the pics.

We had some neighbors and friends over before and after trick-or-treating. It was alot of fun. It is nice to have Halloween on a weekend night.

Special time with good friends

Jodi, Emily, Eve and Me

Alex, Wynter (holding Logan), Payton and Christopher

I had lunch with my 3 good friends this weekend. Jodi came in from Los Angeles area with her beautiful daughter, Wynter, age 11. The first time I met Jodi she was with her 6 week old daughter...Wow...look at her now. Jodi is a dear friend that I don't see as much as I used to but I cherish our times together. She is an amazing friend, mom and woman... Her 8 year old son, Tristian was home with his dad.

We met at my dear friend, Emily's house. She has 2 beautiful children, Payton, age 7-1/2 and Logan, age 2-1/2. Emily and I are going to the Madonna concert Saturday night.... Yea!!! We are excited..... Emily and her children are very special to me. Payton and Alex have a special bond and have for most of their lives.

My other dear friend, Eve came with her son, Christopher, age 10. She has an older son, Jonathan who did not come. She and I have been friends for many years... I guess 7 or 8 now. She has the biggest HEART of any woman I know. She wears many hats and is amazing.

This day was very special and I will remember always. We don't get these moments that often, so we cherish them. The only person missing was our dear, funny, silly, beautful friend, Sabrina and her lovely 7 year old daughter Alyssa. Bri was in Mexico vacationing... We will see her next time.
Love you my friends. Can't wait to see you all again.

Hi everyone --

Well, I took a little break from pics and updating since the birthdays...but I am back. I took some pics of the kids today. Austin and Ellie are wearing their cute skeleton "glow in the dark" sweats. We are planning on going to the Pumpkin Patch tomorrow and get some pumkins, so I will have some more pics to add.

I know I sent an email to all of you about Alex's great parent/teacher conference...but this is for those who I didn't send email to. His teacher said that Alex is a gifted brilliant writer. We are going to work with him to encourage him to write more stories and maybe get published someday. She said 3rd graders do not write like him. It is so exciting!! I also did not mention that overall his is doing great academically. We are off to a great year!
Have a great weekend everyone!

We had the twins birthday party Saturday, Sept. 6 in our backyard. It was a pool/water play party. Good thing, it was 103 degrees here in Northern CA. Luckily after 5:30 or so, it cools off and it is very nice out. We had a "monkey" theme party. We had a wonderful time. Check out the cool monkey cupcake cake.

Alex will be 9 on Sept. 25. We are having a pool party for him on Sept. 20 after school. This is a busy month for us...

Check back soon.

Labor Day MDA Telethon

Alex's favorite ride at Disneyland - Autotopia

Hi - I hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend. We are planning to have a fun weekend with great weather. I just wanted to remind everyone of the Telethon on Monday. If you do make a donation, please designate that the money go to DMD research - in honor alex. You can designate where you want your donation to go to.

On Monday morning, I will be at our local FOX station in Oakland working the telethon. I will probably be on the phones with other MDA moms sometime between 9:00 and 11:00 am...not sure of exact time. For my local friends, please call when I am there. I would love to get lots of calls in honor of Alex while I'm there. That would be so cool.

And last, please keep praying that the cure is around the corner.... With prayers and donations, we will find the CURE!!!

Thank you.

Alex's first day of school - Third Grade

Can you believe Alex started 3rd grade!!! No I can't. Well he has finished 2 days and so far so good. I think he really likes his teacher, Mrs. Hassen. She has a fun way of teaching, and Alex is excited about that.

I got Alex's STAR results last week in the mail (Standard State Testing Results) and he scored really well. We were a little suprised by the high MATH results, especially Algebra. It should be interesting this year to see how he does.

I have been a little nervous...but I think we will have a good year. He will be 9 in one month....it seems like yesterday I brought him home as a newborn.... Just wanted to share :-)
